A lively race begins that will mark their relationship: who will succeed in endearing the teacher to his family. This episode sets the stage for the rivalry, introduces key characters (wife Persa and Sida, as well as daughters Jula and Melanija) and introduces an atmosphere of petty-bourgeois scheming.
