Josefine and Oskar now put everything on one card: They have to get to Thorsen's apartment and therefore to the crèche. Oskar distracts the guards and Josefine manages to escape. She actually gets into Thorsen's apartment and quickly finds the crib. But the devil Thorsen, the tempter, has a good reputation and he puts Josefine through a lot of trouble.
